Katie Pelikan started Pelikan Print Co. in 2018 as a way to make time for intuitive drawing and continue the craft of screenprinting. It's a celebration of the natural world simplified into calm and mysterious forms. Folk art, to Katie, has always been the way that humans capture the essence of something rather than its accuracy. It can be strange and charming all rolled together.
Katie is inspired by ancient pottery, pictorial quilts, and medieval tapestries — especially from her British and Czech ancestry.
