Kiln Rental

Still Life Studio RVA is pleased to provide kiln rentals and firing services for local ceramicists. Our dedicated team, with over 20 years of combined experience in loading and firing, is equipped to handle orders of varying sizes, from small batches to high-volume productions. We currently offer low-fire and mid-fire firing ranges, and our team will load, fire and process your work. Whether you require assistance with fulfilling commissions or achieving your artistic aspirations, our knowledgeable staff is committed to helping you realize your creative vision. Our typical studio firings are ^06 for bisque and ^6 for glaze in oxidation. If your work requires a different temperature, please rent the entire kiln.

We load Friday-Sunday. We guarantee a 7-day turnaround. Please choose your temperature, kiln space, and make a Drop-off Reservation. Contact us through rva@still-life-studio.com if any questions come up before your appointment.

We have two Skutt KM1027 barrel kilns and one Skutt KM1427 Oval kiln. Chamber capacities listed below. For smaller quantities please consider our monthly Firing Membership.

*If multiple pieces are being serviced, please account for their dimensions and weight. There is a chance two or more pieces will not be able to fit into the same firing even though their total volume adds up to the aforementioned size or portion of the kiln. In such case Still Life Ceramics Studio reserves the right to adjust the fee and/or accept only the piece(s) that are possible to fit into the kiln space that the booking has been made for.
