In Surface Design 1: Wet Clay Techniques, artist instructor Genia Rosenblum (of MADE RVA) will guide students through creating surface designs on clay while it's still wet and leather hard. We'll begin the course by creating your own motifs and color palettes using mason stains and slips. We'll spend the next three weeks using these ideas and colors to make work that explores various techniques such as sgraffito, carving, stenciling, wax resist, and more. Whether you're refining your current skills or trying something new, this course will provide hands-on demonstrations and guidance.
